Look I can kinda write!

Thu Jul 16, 2009, 7:04 AM
I was going through my old notebooks and found some poetry I wrote so I figured I'd type it up just so when I went to look for it I wouldn't have to scour through all my notebooks. It's all free verse (I think that's all I can really write)

Be sure to look in my scrap section I have roughs of 'Days of Oc' up

Thou Art Mortal

Sun Jun 28, 2009, 2:15 PM
It's rare that I write anything deep in this Journal but here we go.

At times the gods like to remind us that we are but human and therefore mortal. And they did so over the past few weeks. In many people's minds celebrities no matter what they are famous for enjoy a certain amount of immortality. Yet they are still human like anyone else.

Ed McMan and Fherra lost their struggles with cancer, M.J. the king of pop died due to cardiac arrest and Now Billy Mays is gone from us as well. Billy and M.J. were only 50 and that's young for this day and age.

This all strikes me as well unsettling for a few reasons. I have a boyfriend who is much older than me and he's 55, he's in good health and no one thinks he's a day over 40 but still....two celbs that were younger than him died. And now we found out only a few days ago that my boyfriend's sister has colon cancer. But their mother had the same thing at one point and not only beat the cancer but went on to live a good life for 30 more years (and that was over 20 years ago) so we are hopeful...

My friend Phyills' father is in the hospital he's rather old and has several health problems but he is doing better...
Add to that her brother-in-law is also in the hospital and he may have to lose his leg, his kidneys might fail and ugh it just goes on!

I'm not sure what to do aside from pray and hope and just be there for my friends and family.

Kiss you loved ones tonight and let them know how much you care. As mortals our time is short make it all worth while.

Much love to all

Well that was a wiast!

So yhea I just got back from and art show in PA and man was that a waist of my day. *growl* Spent all night last night and over 80 bucks getting frames and prints ready for today as well as buy a copy of Photoshop for 99 dollars then the 20 that was put down for our spot at the 'Art walk'.

So in total this was a 199 dollar venture....with no success...No one bought a darn thing! Nothing! Meanwhile there were other people around our stand that sold a bunch of stuff and all my prints and my friend's Photos were less expensive. I guess we were just aiming for the wrong market apparently people that shop for Art in the PA antique district like paintings of birds and flowers and dogs, not photos of Baltimore and drawings of dragons.

Here's hopping I have better luck in the Haver De Grace art fair...
